Work parallel with staff and coordinate all department web & print outreach/marketing materials initiatives. Maintain and update the Academic Innovations & eLearning websites. Ensure that departmental web and graphic guidelines are followed, accessibility guidelines are designated and copyright clearance is managed. Maintain websites for overall site design quality and visual appeal. Ensure that all materials are appropriate, unique, correctly spelled, accurate, and timely. Design, develop, and implement training materials and faculty development workshops for faculty of various disciplines of graphic design principles and individual tools. Assist in the management of online social communities that affect and engage the academic community to enhance communication across all departments within Academic Innovations & eLearning. Keep abreast of new developments in graphic design and marketing communications and makes decisions regarding implementation of new tools and services. Assisted eleven medical providers with conducting examinations and treatment to over 28,000 seriously/acutely ill, neonate through geriatric patients annually. Performed duties as a Alaska certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) III for emergent and routine ambulance dispatches/transfers. Administered pre-hospital Advanced Life Support (ALS) protocols with guidance from Emergency Serivices (ES) physicians. Performed paraprofessional medical interventions; advanced airway management, suturing of lacerations, splint application, operated specialized monitoring equipment, administered medications, initiated and maintained intravenous (IV) infusions, and obtained laboratory specimens for analysis. Performed as a shift leader and lead medic. Provided medical support for the largest General Surgery Flight in the United States Air Force. Instructed and prepared patients prior to examinations, assisted with upper and lower extremity segmental blood pressures, ankle brachial indexes, treadmill testing as well as assisting with endoscopic, colonoscopic, proctoscopic, and other minor surgical procedures. Provided nursing care on the largest orthopedic/neurological surgical impatient unit in the United States Air Force with an annual adult patient population of over 5,600. Cared for patients with diverse needs which included neurological monitoring, treatment for vvarious traumatic and disease related injuries, wound care, intravenous antibiotic therapy, and post-surgical recovery.
