The DAT320 doubled capacity from the previous generation, increased speed, and added a Data Encryption feature for the DAT family of tape drives. The DAT320 has both a SAS and USB interface variant. The major tasks I was responsible for included:• Developed the firmware requirements for the new tape drive and documented for the supplier. This included the required low level SCSI command set, Sense Data management, error handling, firmware upgrading features, and media management functions. I have also developed separate and different firmware requirements for OEM customers as required.• Developed a test plan and the software test scripts to qualify the resulting firmware functionality. In addition, I was responsible for performing the required qualification tests for every release of firmware and communicating the results.• Developed software to control the configuration of the DAT320 during the final manufacturing process. This software is installed at a 3rd party contract manufacturing site in Singapore.• Developed software to screen returned DAT320 drives to determine if they are defective needing repair or NTF drives. This software is installed at a 3rd party contract manufacturing site in Singapore.• Developed and maintained the MS Project schedule for the entire DAT320 project. Provided regular updates to management on progress and risks.• Post release support for HP Branded and OEM versions of product.
