• Designing a large-scale J2EE-based retirement fund distribution system using JavaServer Faces, Spring and Hibernate. Customers include large Universities such as Harvard and Loyola.• Significantly improved the performance of a financial processing system.• Division representative on the TIAA-CREF Architectural Review Board

• Designed, developed and supported multimillion-dollar financial enterprise applications for some of the largest financial institutions in the United States, Canada and Europe. These are multi-tiered J2EE and CORBA-based applications that manage billions of dollars.• Served as a technical expert for Java, especially with issues related to threading (13+ years of multi-threaded programming), performance and optimization issues and “impossible to solve” production problems.

• Developed an object model of the relationships in an Oracle database that used recursive descent to evaluate every entity associated with a given entity (written in C++/ODBC on NT, OS/2 and Unix). The tool was used to analyze and prune/archive old records from a production database.• Developed a Java tool that parsed the above referenced C++ classes to generate HTML documentation of the relationships in the database.• Developed a Java client/server tool to reduce the effort required to support production applications running on Unix.

• Served as a technical expert for C, C++, OS/2, and Presentation Manager.• Assisted in the development of numerous portions of the Exceptions/Express exception processing system (written in VisualAge Distributed Smalltalk).• Developed the Supervisor application of the Image/Express check processing system (written with VisualAge C++ OpenClass Libraries).• Developed an OS/2-based interface to let a mainframe (connected via TCP/IP) extract check images from an AIX-based RS/6000 through DCE remote procedure calls.• Wrote numerous reusable APIs that were called by many different applications within the company.

• Assisted in the development of the High Performance Transaction System Key Entry client/server application with OS/2, Presentation Manager, CSet++, DCE, and Microsoft C.• Developed a CD-ROM image-based account reconciliation system using Visual C++ under Windows.• Independently wrote several tools to assist in developing and testing the applications, two of which are in use by major banks in the United States, Canada and Europe.

• Assisted in the design and implementation of a Windows based system for delivery and reporting of local television and cable viewing information.
