John C Davis Jr, M.D., M.P.H., M.S. is an experienced physician-scientist drug developer and biotechnology executive with deep expertise across platforms, technologies and therapeutic areas. Dr. Davis currently serves as a member of the board of directors and chair of the science committee at Sonoma Biotherapeutics in San Francisco and Seattle. He previously served as a board member at Rheos Medicines in Cambridge. He continues to serve as a strategic advisor and member of the scientific advisory boards at HiBio Therapeutics and Oak Hill Bio as well as President of Norte Health Consulting, LLC. Previous roles include (1) head of research and development and chief medical officer at Magenta Therapeutics, (2) senior vice president of early clinical development at Pfizer, (3) global head of immunology at Baxalta (acquired by Shire), senior group director at Genentech/Roche, and professor of medicine at UCSF.Dr. Davis continues to see patients and teach as volunteer faculty at the Boston VA Medical Center. He earned an MD from the University of Maryland and trained in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at The University of California San Francisco. He also trained in clinical research and rheumatology at The National Institutes of Health NIAMS Intramural Program.
