John has 20+ years experience in the commercial and operational real estate industry. He has extensive knowledge of directly investing in, adding value to and asset managing industrial, office, retail and leisure assets in the core plus / value add space, through periods of change, on behalf of both institutional and wholesale clients. His experience also extends to operational real estate. From the knowledge he gained as a hotel investment agent, John has since gone on to invest in and manage healthcare assets and factory outlet centres on behalf of his institutional clients, as well as led initiatives to create new Funds to invest in the UK's student accommodation and residential sectors. He has managed a variety of Fund structures including open and close-ended property unit trusts and authorised investment Funds as well as being a member of both Direct and Indirect Property Investment Committees.He has established significant people management skills leading internal and external teams to successfully manage those Funds, ensure the execution of Fund strategies and the delivery of asset management business plans to optimise returns. In his capacity as a senior team leader, John has been a keen advocate of encouraging and facilitating the personal development of his team members. John has developed particular skills in investment, asset management, repurposing assets, negotiation, team management (particularly through periods of change) and building strong client relationships.
