Directly responsible for day-to-day management and oversight of the OSP fiber design team’s production which included 9 Vendor Partners at one time in the project. Creation of Purchase Orders and processing of invoices with our Vendor Partners. Provide technical and execution guidance over OSP Engineering staff and contract personnel on projects of varying complexity. Functions as a technical specialist in a lead role. Utilizes the Clients M&P guidelines and Planning documentation to develop and apply advanced engineering techniques and concepts to unique engineering problems.

Working with the Design team to solve route issues and conducting Construction Ride-out analysis to justify a solution. Reviewing these routes with the Construction team for their input on the constructability of these designs. Meeting with the customer to discuss technical design guidelines and how they need their network to function. Request site specific layout information for existing building conduit entrances and new Macro Site layouts for determining the Meet-Me HH location. Provide leadership knowledge base for team members on the project. This would include the Field Engineers, Design Engineers and Permitting staff. Provide direction to the drafting teams on the translation of the Permitting Guidelines and clearances required for an approved permit.

BAU Engineer - Business As Usual (BAU) Engineering functions to facilitate customer orders and accommodate building expansions where relocation of existing facilities may be required for their projects. Maintaining Joint Use agreements to rearrange cables for new providers/builds or replace bad poles due to safety concerns. Provide solutions for new commercial growth and coordinating Entrance Facility requirements. Road Moves – Working with Township, County and DOT Engineers to relocate all facilities within the Right of Way to allow for the widening of roadways and/or aesthetic improvements for urban development. Completing permit applications and submitting required drawing packages for the placement of those facilities in the Right of Way areas. FTTT (fiber to the tower) – Collect field data and design fiber routes to upgrade copper fed Cell Towers. FTTH (fiber to the home) – Collect field data and design fiber routes through existing residential developments to provide aerial and buried solutions to serve each home. CAFII (Connect America Funding - Phase 2) - Design and deploy fiber optic cable and power (POE) over existing copper to new remote terminal equipment in order to provide the 10MB minimum high speed internet capabilities to rural customers who cannot get this service today.

This would include Aerial, Buried and Underground applications to route copper/fiber for both residential and commercial growth plus maintenance of the existing infrastructure within a specific wire center.
