John joined Chapman in 2011 and leads Chapman’s sustainability group. He has over 20 years of construction management and sustainable construction experience. As a PHIUS Certified Passive House Builder and LEED Accredited Professional John helps our clients develop and achieve their sustainability, embodied and operational carbon reduction, and high-performance building goals. John brings creative thinking, problem solving, communication, and organizational skills to every project with which he is involved.John has extensive project management experience and a successful track record of managing projects from inception through completion, including business development, design, estimating, preconstruction, construction, and post construction verification. Project market sectors include low energy and net zero, education, institution, healthcare, non-profit, laboratory, clean rooms, cannabis extraction and cultivation, distilleries, breweries, defense, senior housing, hospitality, and corporate interiors. Project sizes range from $100K to $50M.Outside the office, John enjoys spending time with his family and outdoor activities like mountain biking and trail running. He volunteers in his community as the Commodore for the of the Sherborn Yacht Club, a non-profit community boating club with youth sailing school program, and various other capacities. He enjoys being involved with social justice issues, including volunteering as an in-prison mentor at the Tufts University College Behind Bars program, an educational program for incarcerated people.
