After a very productive 26 yr career in the US Air Force working as a Flight Engineer on the C-5 Galaxy and C-141 Starlifter Aircraft I decided not to go quietly into that goodnight. While my previous career had me trotting to exotic locations around the planet, I decided to put my education to good work in another job I truly enjoy. I currently work as the Wing Innovation Officer / Program Manager at Phoenix Spark Innovation Lab located on Travis AFB, CA. While the following bullet points are the technical description of what I do, I actually organize and focus ideas into implementation while answering a few questions. How does the change increase readiness? How does the idea reduce cost? Doea the idea return time back to the organization?How does the idea enhance the lethality of the force itself? I'm tasked with overseeing financial activities; budgeting, funds dispersement,managing risk for the Innovation Lab as well as the Squadron Innovation Funds (SIF). While we use cutting edge technology in this office, we don't just throw money at the problem. We match the problem with a modern and more efficient solution.I am always looking forward to what the future can bring!
