He is also a Strategy Summit facilitator for EO, which allows him to help leaders of other chapters all over the world plan and execute their vision. Prior to founding ThreatSwitch, John co-founded, grew, and sold Big Sky Associates, a firm that helped defense and national security organizations deploy technology-supported continuous improvement methodologies. Among Big Sky's notable projects was a key role in transforming the US Army's security clearance processes, which earned John the US Army Commander's Award for Public Service. Big Sky's included many top defense contractors and nearly every part of the Armed Services and Intelligence Community. In his pre-entrepreneurial career John served as a senior executive at SRA International, a $6B technology and services firm that is now part of General Dynamics. He also worked in various leadership and management capacities at KPMG, Red Sky, Deloitte, and Cambridge Technology Partners. John started his career at the CIA, where he was an Analyst and Graduate fellow focused on nuclear proliferation and nuclear security. He also served as an officer in the US Navy Reserve, worked as part of KPMG's recovery team a the World Trade Center in 2001, and was selected by Entrepreneurs' Organization for its Global Leadership Academy. He is the recipient of several honors and awards, including Charlotte’s Forty under 40, Charlotte Fast 50, The University of South Carolina’s Distinguished Young Alumnus Award, and The US Army Commander’s Award for Public Service for his work on process improvement for security operations.
