I am the VP of Data Analytics at Aperio Global, responsible for developing large-scale data analytics solutions for clients. I have transitioned clients to modern architectures using machine learning and recommendation systems and have worked with a team to develop a federated query application using recommendation technologies. I have also created APIs and machine learning prototypes to showcase the company’s capabilities.

I have implemented artificial intelligence solutions and prototypes for New York University’s McSilver School of Poverty and Social Justice, and I have performed research in AI, algorithmic fairness, and model interpretability. I provide clients with consulting services in data science, AI, and big data analytics. As a technical expert and proposal reviewer for NIST’s Public Safety Innovation Accelerator Program and IARPA’s Deep Intermodal Video Analytics program, my research team was recognized as “Research Team of the Year” in 2015. I formalized a strategic plan to automate multimedia understanding, acquired seven-figure stakeholder investment for three consecutive years, and implemented Agile project management to measure progress and increase resource efficacy. I also assigned research focus areas with measurable objectives to develop the next generation of technical leaders. I implemented a nationwide outreach plan with stakeholders and research partners.

I developed a system for archiving and exploring neuroscientific data, focusing on content-based image retrieval and image quality assessment of neuroimages. I also created a web-based tool to query, compare, and analyze MRI images. In various projects, I extracted information from video and still imagery, including using video analytics for event detection and biometrics from surveillance video, analyzing the impact of image degradation on iris recognition and face identification in video. I also participated in a DHS-sponsored project to survey sensor technologies, including video, for the National Planning Strategy and worked on detecting and quantifying motion in tactical video to automate screening, archiving, and retrieval.
