I’m a startup investor at Brave Capital. We help passionate entrepreneurs realize their vision and build impactful, high-growth technology companies.I’ve always loved building, from childhood with Lego blocks and Lincoln Logs all the way to high-growth startups in my professional career. My passion is taking things from ideas to scalable solutions, and I’ve lived this in the enterprise world, supporting startup operations from inception to successful exit. I’ve been an early employee at two startups—one sold to Amazon and the other sold to Snap. As chief of staff at Wickr and head of business development and product at Gfycat, my experiences included building out product, strategic partnerships, and sales teams, opening offices in Chicago and New York, and guiding a content platform to 200 million MAUs. My teams and I supported customers including the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Air Force, local police departments, journalists, and activists. I drove partnerships with some of the largest Hollywood firms and most popular apps in Silicon Valley, including Universal Pictures, Warner Bros, Sony Pictures, Lionsgate, Facebook Messenger, Apple iMessage, Google Gmail, and Reddit. Through numerous board meetings with investors, I have come to appreciate the dynamics of balancing founder opinions with investor incentives to scale companies. A Bay Area native from a Micronesian immigrant family, I always knew I wanted to roll up my sleeves to work on what people use or rely upon every day. I decided to venture across the bridge to complete a B.S. and M.S. in engineering at Stanford as a first-generation college student, where I gained my first operational experiences. I helped classmates launch companies, identified and recommended students to serve on university committees and the Board of Trustees, and led a service (pre-Uber) that provided safe rides around campus for students late at night. After school, I operated a network of alumni as president of Stanford Young Alumni Bay Area for 5 years.
