Established the practice area for Information Management at EDG. Designed and deployed the business processes, procedures and tools to effectively manage documentation on major capital engineering projects, then hired and trained various individuals as Document Controllers for those projects. Deployed project web sites to enhance communication between EDG and clients, and to capturecurrent-state project documentation in a single collaboration space. Designed and deployed Electronic Procurement capability to ensure capture of all project documentation electronically during engineering phases of major capital projects.Established the High Definition Survey Business Unit for EDG in 2006. Built strategic relationships with qualified service providers to extend project capabilities as the process industry adopts Laser Scanning and Photogrammetry as a standard business practice.Information Management consulting for Document Management (DMS) / Content Management (ECM) technology selection and deployment and SharePoint website configuration, use and deployment. Also development of taxonomies, application data models, application development environments, business and IT strategies.

Deploy Document Management technology across the global enterprise. The project began with an extensive evaluation of leading products in the industry and concluded with the selection of Documentum (Now EMC Documentum). Developed an awareness campaign using roadshows; established enterprise standards and a framework for deployment and use; worked with an excellent team of people from every major business stream. The team received funding for application rationalization (migrating from older systems) from the BP-Amoco Merger Integration Initiative in the amount of $30MM (million).BP's philosophy was to outsource most IT work so we established "preferred vendors" based on geography, capabilities and cost. We already had the standards in place and we provided project funding. We worked with these vendors to ensure standards were followed and project scope was clearly identified before funding was approved.Deployment project was funded for 2 years, at which time support and further deployment was handled over to the support organization.

Managed application development groups supporting international business applications. Tenure included a 4 year assignment as the Applications Manager in the Chocolate Bayou Chemical Plant and a 1 year assignment in London managing a development group that supported financial applications for Amoco’s European operations.Joined Amoco in 1982 working in Tulsa, OK on large IBM and Amdahl mainframe systems running the VM operating system. Advanced into large system performance and capacity planning.Transfered to Houston in 1990 as Applications Manager at the Chocolate Bayou Chemical plant. Temporary assignment in London for 1 year, then worked as Applications Manager for international applications supporting accounting and plant maintenance processes.

Ultimately lead a team of systems programmers developing testing environments for American's reservations and flight operations systems at the data center in Tulsa, OK. The testing environment utilized IBM mainframes running the VM OS.

Began working in the computing center as a junior year student and was hired full time upon graduation. Learned assembly language programming to support and enhance the VM OS. Later used COBOL and PL/I to write applications that interfaced with the OS modifications for accounting and billing. Directed a staff of 2 other programmers.
