During my time as Technology Solutions Lead, I have increased department efficiency through writing and implementing VBA in an effort to automize many day-to-day tasks that Recruiting Coordinators perform. I also noticed several pain points that recruiters were experiencing during their time at BYU, and to answer them I designed and developed an iPad app to streamline their experience. I've built the database in PostgreSQL, and the online web interface as a Python/Django app. The iOS app is built in Swift, leveraging popular libraries such as AlamoFire and SwiftyJSON.I had the opportunity to help interview, hire, and manage the Technology Solutions Team, which consisted of myself, a Data Analyst, and a Systems Administrator.

As an intern I worked on a large-scale network infrastructure project, communicating with vendors, working with internal employees, and managing finances for the project budget.In viewing the finances, I found several places where inefficiencies could be remedied through automations written in VBA. I wrote a new Ledger (Excel spreadsheet used for keeping track of the project finances) with several common tasks automated through VBA. This new Ledger is expected to reduce the time it takes to forecast finances on a monthly basis by up to 87% (from 8 hours to 1 hour).

I began by running live sound reinforcement for any event on campus, ranging from sporting events to concerts, theatrical productions to banquets. I also branched into working for 6 months as an event coordinator, planning events with customers and coordinating the efforts of the different audio-visual groups in the department.

I handled all technical aspects of BYU's premier a cappella ensemble, Vocal Point. I researched and proposed new equipment purchases, headed up all aspects of their sound in their live performances, gave input on recordings, and toured with the group, mixing them in concert.
