I was the point person in restructuring, upgrading and mentoring a new, performance-driven management team at Ocular China. During my tenure, Ocular grew sales 230% despite the deep economic downturn that started in 2008 and was named to the Dallas 100 of Fastest Growing Companies in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Shenzhen Jinghua Display Co. Ltd (深圳晶华显示器材有限公司) is a Shenzhen, China-based technology leader in LCD display electronics manufacturing serving primarily Asian and European OEM customers. Having been in business since 1987, the company is a forerunner of China's LCD display industry and is majority owned indirectly by the Chinese government. As board member, I represented the interests of the US shareholders and provided counsel on strategic matters for the company. Leveraging my many years experience dealing with Chinese partnership issues and my bilingual skills, I was able to effectively serve as the bridge between the US and Chinese shareholder groups and help resolve numerous contentious shareholder issues to the satisfaction of both parties.

As head of finance and administration of Siemens' global R&D hub for broadband portfolio (successer to Efficient Networks after Siemens acquisition), I led the organization and processes for finance, accounting, strategic planning, forecasting, and business reviews while managing an annual R&D budget of $35M; I helped establish and reorganize R&D centers in the US, Switzerland, Germany, India and China and negotiated R&D contracts and transfer pricing. I led the implementation of a global project tracking system to allow collaboration among various development teams around the globe and introduced target costing and business case processes.

As the top finance executive for the Siemens consumer broadband business unit (renamed Siemens Subscriber Networks later), I partnered with the BU general manager and the management team to restructure and turn around this $215M business in two years amid a fiercely competitive environment. I championed hardware platform consolidation, strategic partnerships, outsourcing and cost reduction. I indirectly managed the shared service SCM organization and directly negotiated with strategic vendors to reduce product costs and improve margin.

I set up the cost accounting department for this fast growing start-up company and was responsible for all aspects of inventory and cost accounting and reporting. I worked closely with Supply Chain, Operations, Sales and contract manufacturers to ensure inventory costs were accurate and inventory risks were minimized.
