We need to move beyond a patchwork of point solutions and complex solutions with uncertain security coverage.The traditional approach to security was to respond to viruses, malicious websites, attacks, botnet and high risk applications with anti-virus, URL filtering, IPS, and application control .Advocated a different approach in which we were always one step ahead of threats by developing system that blocked threats before they damaged our networks and systems by building an architecture based on COBIT to block suspicious network activity, block malicious download, block exploitation of vulnerabilities and block command and control activity along attack chain.
