Senior Software Development Engineer In TestElectro Scientific Industries, Inc. Oct 2017 - Oct 2018Portland, OregonI was the sole Software QA resource for a team of 8 embedded Software/Electrical engineers tasked with delivering a new platform for future products of ESI.Accomplishments:• Created and maintained a production grade automated testing framework written in C# that provides convenient communications to remote HW target boards. All test cases are written in Microsoft Unit Test style and used Visual Studio Test Explorer for execution.• Setup a production grade TeamCity Continuous Integration/Deployment build server for the group. Testing a mixture of different HW configurations 24/7. This includes auto deployment of firmware to targets for testing.• C++ programming on product system• Test case development in C#• Report generation in both C# and Python• Created a report generator in Python. The generator produces a web-based ‘Testing Results Dashboard’ report and provides scaffolding for future reports that ESI may want to produce in the future. The first report I created shows results of 250+ tests across 24 test targets with their latest execution status. The dashboard is connected to TeamCity for daily testing review. This work included; API access to TeamCity, HTML page generation using Python, templates, CSS, and Bootstrap.js. One of my roles at ESI was to champion good software quality processes within the group. I have authored multiple documents, including; the ‘Definition of Done’ as it applies to User stories, Test case creation guidelines, and provided any assistance on use of the testing framework. Our Testing/Development environment included: C++, C#, PowerShell, Python, exploratory, manual, and automated testing, Visual Studio Team Foundation Server for User story management, Visual Studio 2017 for test development and execution, Eclipse IDE for firmware development. Major tools I used on a consistent basis: TeamCity, Visual Studio 2017, Eclipse IDE, Postman, PuTTY, Git for SCM, Excel, and Visual Studio Code editor. -

We were responsible for three major web-portals that supported the 'SureID Certified' product line; an administrative portal, program management portal and a customer facing portal. During my tenure within my team I was usually the sole SQA resource, supporting between 3 and 4 developers as engineers moved on and off this team.I lead the efforts on the evaluation of several test management tools. From which I selected 'qTest' from QASymphony as a state-of-the-art test management tool. I was actively involved with the SQA community at SureID defining test processes and standards, Root Cause Analysis as needed, and working on new tools to enhancing the outreach of testing. My self-development goals involved continued learning in these areas: C# and ASP.Net Core full-stack skills. While at SureID I was experimenting with a new style of test definition for a Selenium framework I was creating. Our Testing/Development environment included: Exploratory testing, Agile methods, VersionOne for Sprint management, ‘qTest’ for test management.
