After graduating Western Michigan University with an BSEE, John joined a small company, RAM Electronics as their Chief Engineer. After two great years with RAM, John joined the Simicon Division of Robertshaw Controls, then a $400 Million controls manufacturer. Over the next 6 years, John held positions as Senior Engineer, relocation to Seoul Korea as the Manager of Off-Shore Operations and finally Product Manager for the Consumer Products Division. John and the Division was sold to a private party. John was able to leverage his experience in consumer product development to land a position with Newell Window Fashions in 1991. At Newell Window Fashions, John started as the Product Development Manager and moved to Merchandising Manager for all hard window treatments. During his 5 years with Newell, he was inventor on 4 patents and responsible for many major cost savings and product introductions. His involvement with the industry’s safety council impressed the owners of 3 Day Blinds who hired him as VP of Sales and promoted him to VP of Retail Operations within 1 year. After 6 years and the successful sale of 3 Day Blinds the new CEO asked John to leave 3 Day Blinds and for the 4 years following, he consulted and worked selling window covering and installation services in the Southern California market. In 2004, John was offered and took a position with Renaissance Window Fashions as their VP of Sales and Marketing. This was a start up company created from the assets of Excalibur USA. While management was successful at creating a brand, reducing it's debt and stabilize the company, the company struggled and John left the company to join Sunland Shutters in February of 2007, 30 days before Renaissance announced it was closing it’s doors.John is now using over 20 years of experience, in wholesale and retail sales, marketing and operations to help grow Sunland Shutters as their Vice President in charge of the shutter group.Specialties: Product DevelopmentRetail Sales and MarketingWholesale and MarketingOperations Management
