It’s so easy to get swept up in our desire to take. To take from people. To take from the planet. The more we accumulate, the more successful we tell ourselves we are. But there’s got to be more than that kind of success. Don’t you think❔ To me, less is more. It isn’t about what you have, but what you do & how you help. 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐲 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐬, & I am continually striving to reduce my carbon footprint both in my professional & personal life.I am all about going green – it’s who I am. There’s nowhere I feel more at peace than in nature 🌿🌳🌼. But I also understand that we need to help the economy as much as we help our planet. It’s about striking a balance between supporting ourselves, others, & our environment. I believe in paying it forward, helping others & our planet flourish. My belief in profit with a purpose lead me to start my own business, which all began in a toilet cubicle. Glamorous, I know. I was filling in for a cleaner, rolled up my sleeves & got stuck into the task of cleaning the toilet. But as I opened the bottle of cleaner, the toxic fumes became overwhelming, suffocating. There had to be a better way. Why weren't companies thinking harder about the health of their cleaners? The impact on people using the facilities? What’s better for the cleaners & customers must also be better for the planet, I thought 🤔 And so, the Planet Earth Cleaning Company was born.All this happened 25+ years ago. Back when green was just a colour, & nobody cared for the inconvenient truths. As the years rolled by I realised that people wanted to recycle, but it was difficult & awkward. And so, in 2008, Ecobin was created. Revolutionising how we sort our waste. Today, I work with people that are looking for a healthier alternative & genuinely care about making a difference to our planet, whether that’s through the Planet Earth Cleaning Company, my Ecobins business, or my personal advocacy & public speaking. Wherever my interactions, I love to engage with those who share my convictions. I’ve witnessed first-hand the magnetic power of going green – it’s something employees can be proud of.
