John is an Actuary and Qualified Pension Trustee with over 30 years' experience in pensions, investments and trusteeship.He acts as an independent professional pension trustee for a portfolio of large pension fund clients with over €10bn assets on behalf of over 40,000 members. He also chairs the management committee of a European cross-border pension plan. John is a past chair of the Irish Association of Pension Funds and previously chaired the Irish Government's Pension Funds Working Group on cross-border pensions and asset pooling. He has also served as a director of Pensions Europe, the European representative body for pension funds. Previously, John was a Director of Trustee Principles, a professional trustee services firm he co-founded and which was acquired by Willis in May 2012. Prior to that, John spent three years at Mercer where he was appointed a Worldwide Partner. He began his career as a pensions actuary with Irish Pensions Trust.
