John has extensive experience in the infrastructure and finance sectors, he has presented at many conferences around the world and lectured at universities. He is Chairman of Infranexus Management Pty Ltd [ IFM Investors ]. John’s previous Board positions included Chairman of ACT Suburban Land Agency, Evolution Rail Pty Ltd [ Plenary Group ], Canberra Light Rail, the NSW Government Steering Committee for the Sydney International Convention, Exhibition and Entertainment Precinct Project, Director on the Infrastructure Australia Board, Victorian Funds Management Corporation Board, Barangaroo Delivery Authority Board, Port of Melbourne Corporation Board, the National Advisory Board of Infrastructure Partnerships Australia and Executive Director Department of Treasury and Finance (Victoria) Executive Board.For five years until December 2016 John was a Specialist Advisor to KPMG on the infrastructure and government sectors, including a year as Interim CEO of Infrastructure Australia. Prior to 2012 John was the Deputy Secretary, Commercial Division, at the Victorian Department of Treasury and Finance (DTF) where he was responsible for the provision of strategic commercial, financial and risk management advice to the Victorian Government. John led the development of Victoria's PPP policy, Partnerships Victoria, was a member of the Infrastructure Working Group of Council of Australian Governments and chaired its PPP sub Committee which created Infrastructure Australia’s National PPP Policy. John worked in Banking and Finance prior to joining DTF in 2000. John holds a Master of Public Infrastructure-Research (First Class Honours) from the University of Melbourne and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Institute of Public Administration Australia (Victoria).
