Passionate about improving the lives of others, always the optimist, and seeking new ways to make a difference defines who I am. After graduating from U.C. Berkeley, I became the youngest homicide detective in the San Francisco Bay Area. I left the Palo Alto Police Department after being awarded a National Institute of Justice Fellowship that allowed me to attend Harvard. With my wife and two small children we moved to Boston where I worked full time at a think tank while obtaining my M.P.A. at the Kennedy School of Government. Seeking larger challenges, I accepted a position as a staff director working for the White House Drug Czar. After three years I was recruited to be an assistant city manager in Miami while the city was under the rule of a State of Florida Financial Oversight Board. In my current position I grow revenue and build partnerships. My management style is centered on diversity, respect, and providing those who work for me the tools for success.
