Directly supervised 6 PhDs and managed the portfolio of projects executed by 20+ scientific staff at the University of New Mexico Center for Molecular Discovery. UNMCMD is a specialized screening center within the NIH "roadmap" initiative (MLPCN). UNMCMD leverages unique, state-of-the-art high throughput flow cytometry capabilities to screen chemical libraries (>350,000) in 384- and 1536-well platforms in 2 to 6 week turnaround time. It provides service within the US and internationally for researchers seeking to interrogate molecular and cellular pathways via chemical diversity.Reported to Professor Larry Sklar. Major roles and accomplishments were to increase overall group productivity, integrate project management and operational processes and to provide technical and project planning oversight for all RO1 fast track, RO3 and R21 proposals and collaborations fostered by UNMCMD for execution within the MLPCN funding mechanism. Responsible for ensuring annual milestone objectives were met. Represented UNMCD at NIH steering committee meetings. Co-authored the UNMCMD grant renewal proposal in April 2010 which achieved excellent reviews by NIH, was fully funded with a performance bonus award and succeeded in obtaining funding for two center-driven proposals awarded to Dr. George Tegos and Dr. Yang Wu.
•Co-developed with Business Unit Specialized Therapeutics a multi-indication business case strategy for lipoxins. Implemented key investments recommended in the business case via Global Project Team (GPT) and BSP Common Mechanisms Research Dept. Managed all research on lipoxin development program for gastroenterology, which entered phase I trials in 2007. Managed and integrated external KOL-driven collaborations for lipoxin analogs in IBD, allergic airway inflammation, acute inflammation and autoimmunity.• Member, Therapeutic Research Group Inflammation & Immunology (TRG I&I) Management Board - integrated departments in Berlin, Germany and Richmond, USA. Managed small molecule project asset transfer from US to EU and contributed to portfolio prioritization.
