Responsible for oversight and active procurement for DRC educational shelf testing materials. Manage procurement of paper based and digital based materials for large scale statewide testing programs with responsibility for an annual spend of more than $4,000,000. Plan for and purchase DRC supplied paper delivered to print suppliers for both shelf and statewide testing materials. Over the last year, I developed and led an effort to create combination specification/costing sheets for all DRC statewide testing programs with outsourced procurement requirements. Worked with department staff to have these data created in sharable Google sheets. This helped create a standard format to track costs for current year and predict costs for future years of awarded contracts making the budgeting process much more streamlined.

In this position, I have really enjoyed leading the development of a process to identify re-order points for products acquired as a result of the CTB/McGraw-Hill sale. In addition, it was very satisfying to manage the transfer and oversee the integration of $3M of products to the DRC warehouse ahead of a critical deadline. I also directed the development and implementation of a database to archive specifications for 1000+ products enabling the company to seamlessly and cost effectively order reprints.

I thoroughly enjoyed the vendor oversight, monitoring quality assurance, handling nonconformance issues, identifying corrective action and bringing them closure. I enjoyed implementing lean six sigma methodologies, making recommendations to the Quality Board and monitoring implementation.Selected achievements:Developed formulas for determining material storage versus scrap costs that resulted in initial savings of $100K.Negotiated with current and new print vendors to design and use digital presses to deliver machine scannable materials in less than half the usual time. Led department to become first in company to have complete documentation in place on secure company SharePoint portal.Beta tested cost-savings print options by developing relationship with digital solution providers and working with internal technology group.
