John is responsible for the management of tax risk at WPP, a group spanning 110 countries. He is a member of WPP's tax and business integrity functions. John also leads WPP's tax transformation programme and is Chair of the Group Tax Risk Committee.John has a broad and applied role at WPP, which includes overseeing:1. John was an advisor to the tax and finance leaders of large businesses, including a significant number of FTSE100 and FTSE250 groups. He was part of the leadership team of the UK firm's tax risk & governance services.John advised on the identification, evaluation and mitigation of tax risks, on associated UK and EU tax authority requirements, and more broadly on tax function operational effectiveness and governance. John regularly advised on tax governance considerations as part of mergers & acquisitions and in advance of initial public offerings. He was also the firm's tax subject matter expert on internal audit reviews.John also advised on all matters concerning tax transparency, including in respect of various sustainability reporting initiatives, EU transparency directives, total tax contribution reporting and tax strategy publication.
