Took a two year sabbatical to serve in the Netherlands assisting young missionaries with medical visits, supporting a Young Adult Outreach Center and caring for the homeless and addicted.

Assisted with the design, development and sales of the Starview Advanced Logistics and Planning System (ALPS) for Lean manufacturing optimization. Made the first installations of ALPS system at Toshiba, Global Foundries and Spansion. Met all functional requirements of $200K+ projects.

The AutoSimulations technologies were acquired by Applied Materials. Introducted a new APF Dashboard for factory and tool analytics at Samsung LCD and Semiconductor, Austrian Micro Systems, Ford, Timken and others. Completed Six Sigma Black Belt project using RTD/Activity Manager at Bosch Automotive Electronics fab in Reutlingen, Germany.

Introduced RTD (Real-Time Dispatcher) and Activity Manger (workflow manager) to the semiconductor industry. Sold to more than 200 installations. Conducted custom demos using customer data, POCs, and live installations. Trained off-shore support teams in Taiwan, Singapore, Korea and Japan. RTD became the industry standard. Provided sales, training and installation services for AutoSched AP, a Finite Capacity Scheduler and Capacity Planner in the semiconductor industry. AutoSched became the industry standard for determining tool set utilization, RTD dispatch rule testing, OEE calculation and WIP/CT estimation. Annual sales grew to more than 1 million with high profitability.

Started the ASD Group which provided site planning, facility design, simulation, ROI analysis, contractor specifications and project management services for Logistics Centers and AMHS Systems. Grew annual consulting revenues to $1 million in two years with contracts with Ford Motor Company, Pratt & Whitney, Lever Brothers and General Foods.

Designed Logistics centers and material handling systems including data collection and analysis, system design and specification, subcontractor RFQs, pricing and proposal preparation. Generated contracts ranging from $5 to $50 million with FritoLay, Pratt & Whitney, GE Lighting Group, Revlon, Mary Kay Cosmetics and Ralph’s Groceries.
