Role undertaken to remove embedded consultancy and reduce costs. Initial work involved establishing a 4-person team and subsequently stabilising existing Oracle Business Intelligence 11g implementation, thus improving reliability and accuracy. During this period, educated team on Oracle BI and Essbase administration and development as no previous experience among individuals. Also recruited new junior developer from an internal analyst role and progressed skill set to efficient and competent developer within 6 month time frame. Following this period, implemented entirely new infrastructure for business analysis work. This included hardware, software, and processes to facilitate new “data lake” environment and new OBI 12c implementation. Designed and implemented new model to facilitate granular reporting across business portfolio, training and motivating analysts across the business in order to gain maximum returns from new architecture. Workload necessitated contractors, expanding managed team to 6, split across multiple disciplines. Fully engaged with all business areas to improve working relationships and build profile of team.

Working closely with the business to gather requirements and deliver value-adding solutions while reducing existing manual processing overheads.Management of UK Essbase platform, providing reporting of financial and HR related information across business segments and divisions. Controlled development of changes to fulfil expanding requirements while maintaining stability and availability of existing models.Coordination of business resource and management of contractor/consultant resource to deliver projects on time and to specification.

Development and implementation of several key MI reporting solutions utilising advanced combinations of Oracle (Hyperion) Essbase, Windows scripting and Microsoft Office. Conducted two Essbase platform upgrades (hardware and software implementations). Refinement of existing models, adding additional functionality and data sources to established solutions. Also provide 1st and 2nd line support to user base.

Development and processing of multiple business critical MI reports. Creative approaches to automation of processes within a complex matrix of reports to maximise efficiency and compliance with corporate policies. Coordination of multiple reporting teams to consolidate outputs to provide ongoing data feeds to management. Responsible for department wide reporting from existing Hyperion Essbase platform.
