Career break to spend increased time with family and pursuing personal interests, including travel and understanding environmental issues. I am now available for short-term and/or part-time consulting opportunities as well as CFA Tutor positions.

As a change management leader, developed and managed teams and worked collaboratively across the organization to plan and execute scalable, leading edge technology solutions to meet evolving regulatory requirements. Accountable for driving automation of the Bank’s global liquidity reporting from the Corporate Treasury data warehouse and QRM modeling platform. Provided leadership to a direct team of 6-10 and an extended team of 35+ technology staff in the development of core systems. Evaluated project scope and complexity, developed project plans, ensured adequate resourcing, tracked progress by maintaining detailed issue lists, ensured adequate testing and timely implementation. Continuously worked to improve system reliability and reporting accuracy. Responsible for daily and month-end liquidity reports submitted to the regulators and ALCO/senior management, including liquidity dashboards, early warning indicators, liquid asset buffer, limits, cash flow forecasts and stress tests.  Developed and maintained policies and procedures and collaborated with senior management, Market Risk and Regulatory Reporting groups on liquidity risk and regulatory issues. Participated in meetings with regulators.

Senior Consultant on a project to build an SQL-based Asset and Liability Management (ALM) data warehouse. Responsible for the design, build, testing and implementation of a new data warehouse to meet liquidity and interest rate risk reporting requirements in connection with evolving regulatory requirements. Analyzed data in the Bank’s major systems and developed data feeds from those systems to the ALM data warehouse.  Provided direction to 35+ technology staff. Collaborated with Corporate Treasury, Technology, Market Risk, Enterprise Risk, Audit and Operations groups.

Completed the CFA certification.

Leadership position in building a $5bn, highly profitable, secured commercial loan and leasing business for the RBS Group.  Developed the strategy, risk policies and operating procedures for the business in conjunction with the Business CEO.  Managed a team of 8 staff responsible for the structuring, negotiation and on-going portfolio management of large, structured transactions. Closed approx. $400mn per annum in new commercial loan and leasing transactions to finance major capital investments.  Risk Management and Credit Analysis – analyzed credit and structural risks for large transactions in several sectors, including transportation, energy and infrastructure. Developed complex cash flow models and sensitivity analyses. Presented transactions to divisional and group credit committees for approval.

Led a global group of 12 professionals (based in New York, London, and Tokyo) responsible for the origination, risk analysis, documentation and portfolio management of new commercial aviation/rail business.  Originated and closed $500+ million per annum of commercial loans and leases for major U.S. airlines and rail operators, working with arrangers and equity investors to structure transactions to meet client objectives and the Bank’s risk/return criteria.  Managed a $5bn loan and lease portfolio generating approx. $30mn of annual revenue. Significantly improved portfolio profitability and implemented enhanced management information reporting.  Successfully managed the integration of the Greenwich/NatWest transportation finance teams into the RBS Group, working effectively with HR, legal, audit and compliance teams.
