Media entrepreneur specialising in creating, producing, directing, publishing and promoting video content - from dynamic promotional films to highly acclaimed sports documentaries.John Gubba has enjoyed success both as a creative film-maker and one of Britain's longest surviving independent producers. Since initially setting up Visionsport International (VSI) in 1990, milestones include launching and managing Britain's first dedicated Football Club channel, Boro TV. As a self-shooting director-producer he first made his mark with the ground-breaking, observational TV series 'Wild Thing' - a show that premiered on the Discovery Channel's Animal Planet in 1999 and was 90 percent funded by VSI Enterprises.As a publisher he has funded over 300 videos and DVDs for retail distribution and since 2009 he has producer-directed over a dozen documentaries and special films for the Manchester United TV Channel, MUTV, which is broadcast in 160 countries. Since starting out as a journalist at the age of 17, he has mastered a unique collection of skills that make him one of most versatile operators in the media business today. As a storyteller not only does he excel in documentary film-making, but he has mastered the art of filming, scripting, narrating, interviewing, reporting, producing, directing, editing and promoting his own productions. With experience of working for national newspapers and broadcasters - including ITV, Thames TV, GMTV, BBC and Sky Sports - he has enjoyed success across all media platforms. In 2013 he is making his mark online producing tailor-made films for websites, viral distribution and the social media network. Recent clients include one of the UK's top Model Agencies and a world-famous adventurer looking for funding to kayak from Russia to America.
