Art, baby!I'm currently learning and innovating in the data-visualization space. This involves study, evangelism, and pushing the visual envelope. Imagine: a billion-point data graph with a mind-blowing aesthetic!I'm also a digital artist with a growing body of work appearing in private collections and exhibitions as well as commercially. With various teams, I (ghost)write, narrate and produce songs, music shorts, videos, podcasts, demos, voiceovers (including original music and visual art assets), blogs, interviews, console demos, data visualization, Jupyter and Zeppelin notebooks, animated GIFs, case studies, and whitepapers for a small but growing set of clients, which have included Aiven.io (Helsinki, Finland), Alooma (Redwood City), RadixDLT (Stoke-on-Trent and London, UK), MapD (San Francisco) and many more.I also travel the world to give talks, workshops and full-on performances featuring many of the pioneering technologies and techniques I work with.I make it a point to use the the technology I write about whenever possible. These have included: Apache Kafka (extensively) and other Apache open source technologies; Omnisci GPU visualization and KineticaDB (also GPU computing); AI and ML tools including Pytorch, Tensorflow and DeepDream; .rst and other markup languages for documentation; more than 25 SQL and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, ScyllaDB and Apache Cassandra; Data Science tools and techniques (including Anaconda; R; Jupyter and Zeppelin notebooks, with several visualization libraries); and all of the major compute clouds, including AWS, Digital Ocean, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and UpCloud.The music technology I've mastered includes several unique and custom guitars, basses and microphones; the Boss RC-505 loop station; Soundcraft mixers; and Korg ES and ESX samplers with numerous DAWs including Logic, Audacity and ProTools.

Championing the Aiven.io service user at all levels. This includes producing content of all types (including creative work); evangelism on stage, and online forums; documentation, command-line, UI and API improvements; community building, and, of course, advocacy.Aiven.io offers fully-managed, automated Apache Kafka and open-source database services on public clouds around the world.

Evangelizing Treasure Data and FluentD to our worldwide developer community.Demos, marketing, content and evangelism.On the content side, I've produced 46 blogs, 20 videos, 6 podcast episodes, 4 gated guides, 6 webinars, and a number of talks, the top-ranking blog post on Treasure Data blog, as of 2017.I've also spoken at and attended events across the United States and globally including SF Mongo DB, Startech Conf (Chile), FISL (Brazil), Great Wide Open and many others.I've also helped run events and have spoken at a number of them on our behalf.

Evangelized and taught Open Source products and tools around the world. subjects I taught included: Android UI/UX design, GIT, Testing for Android and Selenium. My courses are modelled on Zed Shaw's excellent "The Hard Way" series, so you learn by coding from the word "go". I also ran a course on Selenium, RSpec, Ruby and Cucumber; our clients have included ARIN and Paypal.

Spearheaded nascient testing effort across multiple mobile platforms. Earlier I worked with our W3C - standards setting "Web APIS" and recently, I worked as an early build engineer, UX contributor and quality engineer on "Boot2Gecko", which later became Firefox OS. I also helped, on the carrier end, to drive the technical end on launches across Latin America and Europe.I also worked with our volunteers in the open-source community worldwide to drive this thing.

Helping large and small companies in product management, requirements engineering, manufacturer and test. I tought where my skills were needed while gaining experience working on the line as as an engineer. Much of this work was pro-bono, for the experience and chance to travel. My Chilean client, www.austec.cl, has done projects as diverse as software and robotics development for ChileanSky.I also offered an "agile best practices" course, mostly pro-bono, to clients around the world.

Skype Certification predated the hardware and 3rd-party partner programs and set the bar for the functions that followed. I drove the nascient dev of Skype's integration to hardware, software, and audio from strategy through implementation. Although now a precedent, much of my work was controversial in its time.I established relationships with many of our "pioneer" partners to enable Skype's superior user experience with successful, bleeding-edge products. For a program that charged nothing for our services, Skype cert earned Skype more than 1.6 M EUR during my tenure alone, and continued to be the 2nd most profitable branch of the company for some time, after Services.I found many of the original partners and helped establish the original partner ecosystem at Skype. There are more than 4,000 partners in my network, including many Tier 1s, today as a result.I envisioned our logo certification process and set up test processes, environments, teams and criteria deliverables to support it.

I've been helping to envision and engineer requirements (and solutions) in Estonia, Finland, Canada, Taiwan and the U.S. I also teach the stuff.
