During his time as Business Systems Manager John rationalised the databases used across the councils, leading on the combining and migrating information from one system to another which enabled AfC to reduce the numbers of systems down from 38 applications to 21. During his time as Business Systems Manager John rationalised the databases used across the councils, leading on the combining and migrating information from one system to another which enabled AfC to reduce the numbers of systems down from 38 applications to 21. This rationalisation was key to merging of the different teams to have a single business process within the company. John also led on the merging of the two main children’s social care databases into one meaning that records and reporting were streamlined and a more accurate and consistent ‘single version of the truth’ was achieved. From November 2017 John led on both systems and performance within the company. John also played an integral role when Windsor and Maidenhead joined achieving for children leading on the implementation of a performance framework where previously there was none.
