To date, Lycka has entered multiple engagements ranging from trading strategy/idea generation to capital raising/introduction.Developed an original trading strategy focused on Closed-End Fund Arbitrage. Developed individual trading ideas focused on: Closed-End Fund events, Warrant Arbitrage, de-SPAC events, Lock-Ups, Cap Structure Arbitrage, Small Cap Equity, Distressed Debt, and other events.

Developed a differentiated event-driven strategy. Launched with a $10mm allocation which grew to $100mm. Achieved an IRR of 87.75%, on average gross exposure of ~ $40mm for calendar year 2020 and 10.5% on average gross exposure of $57mm in 2021, before scaling back. Annualized IRR of 25.4% over 2.5 years, through up and down markets.

Part of a small team from CRT Capital that was folded into Cowen.Institutional Sales/Sales-Trading across the Capital Structure: HY/Distressed, Convertibles, SPACs, Spin-Offs, Post-Reorg, Arbitrage, Trade Claims, Liquidations, Privates and various other esoteric instruments.Partnered with colleagues across product lines to produce well over $10mm in credits/commissions annually. Augmented other sales professionals as an "even driven/special situations" overlay when appropriate. Organized and lead the daily, firm wide HY/Credt morning meeting.

Hired to augment Equity Sales efforts as CRT grew. I found that the best opportunities to add value for my institutional clients (certainly the most exciting) surrounded "events" and transitions up/down the Capital Structure.As a "single point of coverage" salesman I generated and executed orders, on an agency basis in a multitude of markets including: US, Canadian, Euronext, AIM, IBEX-Listed Equities; Listed and Private When-Issued Equity; US-listed Options; Listed and Private Warrants and Rights; Public and Private Preferred and Convertible Notes; US IG/HY/Distressed Debt, registered and 144a; Various European Debt Markets; Gray Market Debt and Equity; US Bank Debt; Trade Claims; US Treasuries.In this role (which extended through my time at Cowen) I experienced several debt cycles, most notably the 2008-2009 credit crisis as well as boom cycles that produced a plethora of spin-offs and the SPAC phenomenon.
