I am a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. My approach is psychodynamic, starting from the belief that a persons life experience influences their behavior today, both consciously and unconsciously, even though that behavior may not serve them anymore. I use narrative therapy, art therapy, talk therapy, dream therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, depending on the client's needs when they come into session. My clients are typically in transition, whether that is moving away to college, beginning parenthood, being in mid-life crisis, or starting retirement. Transitions show up in many ways, whether it is moving homes, switching jobs, creating a new relationship dynamic, and bereavement. Evidence of it can show up in the mind, body, heart, and spirit.Professional ExperienceOne Life Counseling Services (2017-2022): Therapist trainee, Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (still affiliated)Flea Street Cafe (2016): Intern, back of the house food prep and cooking.Google (2003-2014): Manager for systems engineering teams, data center teams, Data Center Engineer, Field Technician for supporting IT in both headquarters and remote offices.Finaplex (2002-2003): Quality Assurance Engineer, financial software for high net worth entitiesHomestead Technologies (1998-2001), QA Engineer, Systems Engineer, web site builderWest Publishing (1997-1998), Associate EditorNew York State (1996-1997), LawyerEducationBS Computer Science (English Writing Minor), Washington University in St. Louis.Juris Doctor, Fordham UniversityMA Counseling Psychology, Pacifica Graduate InstituteSan Francisco Cooking School (Professional Cooking Certificate)HobbiesAthletic -- hiking, running, cycling, swimming, paddle boarding, dancing, yoga, basketball, weight trainingPersonal -- journaling, reading, traveling, learning, meditationOther areas of explorationIn my exploration for lenses through which to view my life , I have spent time with Shamanism, Reiki, Astrology, Journeying, Meditation/Mindfulness, and Yoga.
