Development and running of biochemical and cellular assays, with associated data analysis and presentation of results to the project team, including during project strategy meetings.I also represented the company at conferences (International Conference on Autoimmunity) and outreach events, including the Big Biology Day at Staffordshire University, part of the Society of Biology’s Biology Week.

Industrial placement student in the Department of Biological Sciences.My project required me to develop and validate a high-throughput screening assay using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry and implement a work stream to allow the testing of other targets. This work was published in the Journal of Biomolecular Screening.In addition to my main research project, I delivered weekly SAR biochemical screening assays for other project teams.

Project Title: The location and function of ExsFA in the exosporium of Bacillus cereus spores and the discovery of a possible cap region for spore outgrowth.
