I am a transactional lawyer with experience representing clients in a wide variety of business matters. A large part of my practice focuses on structuring and negotiating real estate, natural resource and business transactions in a variety of industries such as real estate development, oil and gas development, mining operations, uranium and rare earth element prospecting, telecommunications, farm and ranch operations, software development and ethanol production. I have helped numerous clients in the acquisition, development, and divestiture of major mineral properties. I have also represented clients in the purchase and sale of ranches and farms throughout the state of Colorado, and in the negotiation of their oil and gas leases and surface use agreements.I have significant experience drafting drilling, division order, and acquisition title opinions for my oil and gas industry clients. I thoroughly enjoy going through the history of a particular parcel of land, putting the pieces of the ownership puzzle together, and obtaining the ownership answers my clients need to develop their oil and gas prospects. I also bring a similar skill set to the preparation of loan and equity opinions in support of major financing transactions.I have been fortunate to represent business clients from the formation of their entity through their growth cycle to the ultimate sale, merger, or other disposition of the company business.
