Product Manager/Owner for two internal machine learning software applications at Bayer Crop Science. Direct the activities of the software development teams and product specialists assigned to the applications. Responsible for planning the long-term vision, detailing new features, prioritizing backlogs, and ongoing maintenance of both products. Both applications are the culmination of years of agronomic, genetic, geospatial, and data science research. They are some of the most advanced and cutting edge tools produced for Crop Science operations to date. Both are used globally to optimize seed planting and harvest operations across hundreds of thousands of acres. This results in millions of dollars in cost savings every year.Both applications are additionally used to reduce the amount of land required for seed production operations, thereby helping Bayer reach its commitments to sustainable farming and a reduced carbon footprint.

Member of the global team that leads a multi-year and multi-million dollar program aimed at optimizing seed production through web and mobile apps, data analysis, and AI/machine learning modelsBy request of the Head of Data Science, currently preparing a seminar for a large data science team on the psychology and neuroscience behind analytical model trust and comprehension. With the Workstream Lead Manager, act as primary liaison between the global team and the analytics and decision science teams. Focus on developing the 1-3 year vision and strategy for future analytical models. Architect infrastructure changes necessary for future vision.Consistently interact with both regional coordinators from around the globe and multiple product managers that govern digital tools.Helped transform the global team’s process into a more Agile one by building a system from scratch using the Aha! roadmapping software. Took customer feedback and translated it to product improvements that were passed to the development team. Played a key role in the development of all new product features. Involved in the initial architecture discussions and prototyping of all new features, even the ones I did not lead the development initiative on. Combined feedback from customers and advice from expert advisors, then translated it into actionable development projects. Architected the development projects by writing technical requirements, creating user interface mockups, breaking it into phases, determining priority, and shepherding it through the development process.Built the first version of the product’s proprietary rules-based analytics engine. In addition to building the actual analytics, this also required designing a unique data model and exposing API’s on Azure cloud servers to enable programmatic runs.
