There are not a lot of lawyers who are uncomfortable doing what is necessary to present a persuasive argument to a jury on behalf of their client. Too many things are unpredictable for some people who became lawyers because they thought it would help make things more predictable. Being one of the few that is comfortable before a jury is something I am proud to have become and something I will continue to use to assist those that hire me.A great deal of my career has been spent on technologically complex issues that require engineering or other scientific background to understand sufficiently to explain them persuasively to others, including juries. Collectively juries are smart and very perceptive. They are often asked to unravel complex facts and make decisions that have multi-millioin dollar results. The experience of knowing what works and what doesn't in this context is truely outcome determinative.
