I work to present content, often for sports, in appealing and creative ways. I work with editors and reporters from around the building to understand what they have written and to come up with the best course for presentation in print or on the web at ReviewJournal.com.

Bakersfield, California Area

Designed pages, often in sports, for the print edition of the Bakersfield Californian. Work included discussing with reporters and editors on the best way to present prep sports content for the organization's BVarsity vertical, and developing a plan of attack for major projects.

As section editor, served as the section's primary planner, editor and section designer. Helped develop and advise the creation of the organization's sports-focused vertical, Advosports, which launched during my tenure as sports editor.

I worked to develop local high school sports beat as a reporter, working with teachers, students, parents and coaches; also edited and designed the sports section once a week.

I edited stories for the monthly magazine for content, grammar and length.

I was placed in Los Angeles as part of the Dow Jones News Fund program. Received hands-on training editing news and sports stories on deadline for California's largest newspaper. Worked two months on the metro desk, and four months on the sports desk.

I oversaw the publication in its entirety.

Oversee news coverage and first edits of it, also input into graphical aspects of the newspaper.

I oversaw publication and production of the Current in its entirety. Recruited, hired editors, and helped assign stories for print. The Current published biweekly (eight times each semester), and reached a campus community of about 32,000 students. Also helped establish the publication's first major Web presence.
