I moved back to a more Wear Many Hats individual contributor role that saw Toast through Covid and a successful IPO. As a full stack developer I worked on the Online Ordering web app, Toast Takeout native app, and worked on defining and implementing key pieces of the on premiss, Order and Pay application which helped restaurants safely reopen at the tail end of the Covid Pandemic. I worked on building consensus around system wide changes such as moving guest applications off of the main domain and onto its own subdomain and designing and building out a front end single-spa framework for guest applications that integrated with Toast's core tech stack better gave developers the ability to instantly test changes on a live preproduction site with no need for complex local configuration or access keys.

I moved to Google as part of the Stackdriver acquisition where I was both an individual contributor and simultaneously managed teams in MA and NY. In that time I ported Stackdriver to Google's infrastructure, moved all of GCP to use the charting libraries I and my team had developed and managed the building of Metrics Explorer, a ground up application for advanced data mining of timeseries data and creating graphs for monitoring dashboards.

• 10th developer on the team, joined when the application was just a prototype and grew it into a production web application.• Presented the charting frontend and development philosophy to Google execs vetting the company for acquisition.• Advocated for and moved the frontend team from a jQuery based application to the AngularJS framework.• Developed the visualization pipeline from the middleware APIs to the D3 based charting library that was the core of our product.• Developed the billing UI that communicated via SOAP and JSON to our provider for our first generally available release.• Work was estimated at three months but I was able to bring it online in three weeks to meet important milestone dates.• Developed landing page and individual service monitoring pages as well as the custom charting dashboard where users could configure charts and thresholds for monitoring their services.• Developed C plugin for collectd so customers could monitor Mongodb deployments.

• D-Bus maintainer, Linux’s desktop communication protocol for application to app, and app to kernel coordination . Brought the release to 1.0. Was the primary driver in getting all major Desktop projects to adopt the standard.
