I was responsible for leading a diverse direct sales team of (15-20) Strategic Account Executives and (4-6) sales support personnel. Manage overall responsibility for national and regional strategic accounts, which consisted of the Top 2800 Industrial, Commercial, Municipal, State, Federal, and School customers that represented approximately $2.2 billion in annual revenue to the Corporation. Generate revenue through the direct sales distribution channels of existing and potential retail customers and develop national/regional sales territory design. Responsible for a $4M+ operating budget. Management of sales teams consistently resulted in exceeding goals by 128% on average in two years, while personal goals were exceeded by 150%. Sales team won 85% of competitive threats against existing business and gained 93% of new competitive business, which totaled approximately $120 million in contract revenue. Sales team exceeded goals for closing the sale of value-added products and services by 140%. Restructured sales territories for national account organization into targeted market verticals. Designed a focused sales compensation structure and administration plan. Developed strategy and sales plan for moving sales from a regulated environment to a deregulated environment.
