Joint founder of the National CLEAR Programme which supports the NHS to restore and transform services across priority areas including mental health, critical care, urgent and emergency care, anticipatory care and ophthalmology. As a practicing Anaesthetist and following my experience as a relative of a patient in 2013, I jointly developed a healthcare modelling and redesign system to deliver meaningful change to patient care. Working with like-minded people, the company 33n was formed which allowed us to create a way to deliver this change within the NHS and, together with support from Health Education England, founded the National CLEAR Programme. The National CLEAR Programme works with clinicians and healthcare organisations to deliver transformation and workforce redesign projects to improve the quality, safety and efficiency of services for patients and staff. CLEAR, which stands for Clinically-Led workforcE and Activity Redesign, has worked with more than 50 NHS trusts and GP surgeries and provided rapid support and training to the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic. CLEAR is hosted and delivered in partnership with East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
