Hired to (staff, create, establish) run debt capital markets for a publicly traded debt equity firm. Averted an ACAS bankruptcy by negotiating with creditors on two continents during 2008 crisis. Top highlights include:• Ratings: Achieved ACAS’ first investment grade ratings by Moody's and S&P (Baa2, BBB). • Deals: Raised $8 billion of capital within 4 years for ACAS and ECAS – prior to the historic market crash – details of prolific deal flow are documented in many news releases. • Balance Sheet: Drove a yearlong balance sheet restructuring of all debt for ACAS and ECAS. Won consensus among Tax, Legal, Accounting, and FP&A on capital financing. Managed $1.5M personnel budget.• Created an Industry” Gold Standard”: Conceived and built Marriott’s first securitization platform for timeshare loans – $2.5B in asset-backed bonds – and the first platform of its kind in the hospitality industry. • Led Key Prerequisites: Designed and implemented a new document-imaging system – an industry first (over 4 million images at startup) – for 200,000 loan customers. Electronic imaging replaced paper-based filing.• Mortgage Banking Governance: Co-authored doctrine that aligned origination, servicing, sales, capital markets, accounting, and legal. Defined new policies for pricing, credit, value, and regulatory compliance.• Financial Initiatives: Led development of a $500M interest rate hedging platform – forward bond transactions – that eliminated interest rate risk via “hedge effectiveness.” Placed over $500M annually (bonds) that drove liquidity and generated $88M of operating profit through loan securitizations (operating profit of 25% and 5% for MVCI Marriott International, respectively). • Designed a structure to originate and sell loans in US market generated in Asia/Pacific Region.
