Created SEO strategies for manufacturing companies, home services and construction, e-commerce, education, and clients in other sectors. Completed intensive SEO audits, made detailed recommendations, developed content strategies, made recommendations on linkbuilding and holistic marketing efforts. Worked in unison with internal teams and other agencies for specific clients. Oversight of web design and development of multiple sites. Lockedown SEO developed and launched about 150 sites in a nine year period. Reported on rank positions, overal traffic, organic search traffic on specific pages. Implemented strategies to improve capture of marketing qualified leads (MQL) on landing pages. Offered suggestions for improvement of pages that decreased in organic traffic. Re-audits of pages and sites periodically. Competitor analysis and content audits of competition vs client sites.

During my time as podcast co-host of WP-Tonic, my co-host Jonathan and I had the pleasure of publishing close to 120 episodes of a popular marketing and web development podcast. Also, I helped interview some of the biggest names in web design, online marketing, and web development. Needless to say, I learned a ton about web development, business, and marketing from talking to people who have had major success in their fields.

I was the end user for website testing on mobile and desktop. These remote tests are then analyzed by UX teams at UserTesting and their clients for insights about how designs could be improved. This was mostly for supplemental income on top of freelancing.

Started as an on-call worker, often for shifts where people call out last minute. Did many different things first year: pan man (ask me about it sometime, that's an honest days work), bread wrap, oven man, loading trucks, sanitation. Found my spot in shipping picking orders. Shifts could vary from seven hours (rare) to eleven hours (common) to fourteen hours (more than occasionally). It was during this time I decided to learn web design and web development and start my second career, by any means necessary.

Responsible for baking croissants, danishes, breads for each day (from scratch!) Learned a lot at this job, it just didn't pay enough to make it a long term scenario.

Started as a donut fryer in 1991, worked my way up to apprentice, then journeyman baker. Took over as acting bakery manager in Ukiah while current manager was on injury leave. Managed first bakery in Lakeport in 1997. Moved to Sacramento, managed the midtown bakery on Alhambra and 30th St for six years (top sales store in Sacramento at the time). Until the 19th St store was built, this was the busiest Safeway in the Sacramento region. Also managed the Citrus Heights bakery and West Sacramento bakeries for a combined total of about three years. A point of pride: every bakery I went to increased revenue and profitability from previous person in charge.

This was at the Arden Fair Mall. I got a second job to save money for a down payment on a house. Started as a barista/cashier, but ended up as closing shift supervisor. This was where I got the nickname "Lockedown".

Worked as Kitchen Manager for local pizza place, House of Pizza, from 1990 to 1991, introduced several menu items and was responsible for 100% of food and supplies ordering and all food prep during the week. Had a second job at Ye Olde Coffee Mill in Orchard Plaza during part of this time as a dishwasher, prep cook, waiter, and part-time line cook. I literally had ten jobs on my taxes during 1990, mostly in restaurants (Country Chef(Old Perkos), Rock Cafe (was the Purple Cow and A&W), mexican food place that was the old Taco Bell on South State St (can't remember the name)), but also did construction for a dude named Fred Weatherly. Someone in Regina Heights is still living in the house I helped build. Also did some part time work for Mitchell's Krazee 8 donuts on the side during my early years with Safeway, around 1993 or 1994: didn't get paid (in money) half the time, just did it to help out two friends that worked there. Maybe that's why I still dream about bakeries to this very day.
