Recruited to use my management expertise to oversee and run the daily functions of the histology core, where I am accountable for tissue processing, including sample preparation, sectioning, general histological methods, and advanced staining techniques; educate investigators in project design and troubleshooting of histological and imaging protocols.I established work procedures and standards to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of assigned operations by crafting manuals and standard operating procedures in accordance with GLP’s and supervised work streams to successfully design and implement strategies to expand market potential. Facilitate monthly billing, year-end accruals, and all billing requests.In addition I provide expertise in the evaluation and interpretation of test results and the resolution of discrepancies, while monitoring all section activities ensuring accuracy and timeliness of work including direct oversight of the histology core, including EM, special stains, hard tissue techniques, whole slides digital scanning and analysis; advanced staining techniques including immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, CISH, and FISH.I am also a key participant in the company’s internship program which allows High School and College aged students to be trained in all areas of research.

I was brought on board to routinely perform histological laboratory tests and procedures and provide accurate and timely slides to Pathologist in specialty reference laboratory. During my tenure I collaborated with laboratory director and supervisor to create innovative and financially sound solutions to solve problems and respond to daily challenges, and utilized microwave processing for rapid same-day turn-around of patient results.I was proud to have actively participated within the immunohistochemistry/special stain team.

Hired to oversee daily operations for a Dermatologic Mohs/Histology Laboratory, where I set-up and completed operations of a routine histology laboratory and three satellite Mohs facilities and had direct involvement with Physician/Surgeon, and other key surgical personnel and produced high quality Mohs sectioned slides.I used my management expertise to establish and implement Standard Operating Procedures in accordance to CLIA regulations and trained medical and office personnel in all aspects of the Mohs/Histology laboratory.In addition I was responsible for maintaining all records pertaining to QC/QA issues for CLIA audits and was the key liaison with State CLIA Inspector for operational audits of all licensed facilities at least once every two years.
