Dr. Kane is Professor of Psychiatry and Molecular Medicine at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine in New York. For over thirty-five years he has been an international leader in schizophrenia research. He is the author of over 850 papers in peer reviewed journals and has been the principal investigator on 23 grants from NIMH. He is the recipient of numerous awards and prizes and has served as President of the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology, The Schizophrenia International Research Society and the Psychiatric Research Society.
