John Kennebrew is an alumnus of Morehouse College where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Marketing. Known on campus for his dedication, involvement, and open-mindedness, John felt compelled to transition into a field where his talents would have the greatest impact. Therefore, he attended Argosy University and received his Masters of Arts in Community Psychology and is currently working in his field as a licensed Adolescent Psychotherapist.In this role, John assists troubled adolescents with emotional support, conflict resolution, problem solving, and guidance in processing and understanding feelings. His work leads to healthier relationships, increased motivation and a happier family systems. Upon discovering an industry-wide focus on negative behaviors and personality traits of youth, John decided to create an organization designed around highlighting the positive attributes youth can contribute to society, while working towards their psychological and behavioral growth intermittently. This organization, Showcase Group, is about meeting youth where they are and gearing their mindset toward positive change through creative therapeutic interventions. With the support of an active and involved board, the organization has made monumental strides. Their latest success story is the implementation of their Technology Literacy Program. With the use of technology, they have engaged youth in learning to enjoy and comprehend what they read. Also, Financial Literacy continues to grow as a topic of interest evidenced by the active level of engagement youth display during interventions. Kennebrew works to continue to create new and innovative interventions that grab the interest of youth today.
