Started as an Associate Engineer in the Fidelity eBusiness (FeB) web team based in Dublin developing Web applications using Java Com objects with a strong emphasis on Object-Oriented Software, ASP, Microsoft’s IIS, IBM’s WebSphere, XML and XSL.July 2001, appointed to the role of Software Engineer within FeB that involved taking on new responsibilities such as analyzing requirements, writing technical specification documents and developing project lifecycle and design using UML to produce object oriented solutions. July 2004, appointed to the role of Senior Software Engineer within the FMX Inbound team developing a complex multi-threaded Email Response web application using: .Net Framework, C#, ASP.Net, VB.Net, XML, XSL, SQL Server, Oracle and PL/SQL. Due the complex nature of the application it was my responsibility to architect a truly OO design to ensure maintainability and reuse was simpilified. It also included branching out into smaller projects that involved using Java, more specifically JEE. Responsibilities in the FMX Inbound team also included guiding and directing team members at the level of Software Engineers and Associate Engineers, ensuring their work met the development standards of the company.July 2007, appointed to the role of Principal Software Engineer within the FMX Inbound team. The position involved strategic long term planning for the team, project and team management and technical design, architecture and development. July 2008, moved onto the Historical Tape project, a critical and highly sensitive project to Fidelity. The focus of this project was to reduce Fidelity’s huge cost in maintaining data tapes whilst retaining sensitive data required for legal compliance. My role within this project was Architect, initially designing the application’s infrastructure and then overseeing design, development and implementation. Technologies used in this project ranged from .Net 3.5, C#, SQL Server, T/SQL, Flex and AJAX.

During my college internship I was a team member in Test Software Engineering department providing technical support to test stations on assembly lines. Configured software on controllers which ran test stations.Gained valuable experience on team projects, timeframes, communication and interpersonal skills.
