Reporting to the Group General Manager HR Coles Myer Ltd, key responsibilities included the development of the Health & Safety Blueprint and leading the successful implementation Group wide at the request of the CEO as a priority for the organization.I provided al Health & Safety services on a centralized basis to 9 retail brands, logistic services & corporate functions covering 192,000 team members.Services included safety prevention, claims & injury management, incident investigation, actuarial reviews & metrics reporting.

Reporting to the Managing Director Coles Supermarkets, my responsibilities included development of the strategic business plan including key human resource interventions to deliver the plan.Key achievements included strategy to reduce workforce casualization from 76% to 54%, design & implementation of the Coles Institute by partnering with Deakin University to provide accredited training & education. Introduction of Coles Excellence awards to recognize outstanding performance and implemented agreed plans with senior management to successfully reduce lost time injury frequency rate & reduction of workers compensation premium.

Developed & implemented a centralized HR shared services model across Coles Myer Ltd to successfully eliminate duplication of resources. Resulting in significant reductions in operating costs with increased service levels for various retail brands with limited HR infrastructure.

Introduced and negotiated enterprise bargaining agreements for 22 distribution centres generating workforce efficiencies in exchange for competitive work terms and conditions based on the needs of each individual distribution centre. Successfully introduced employee strategies including consultative committees, performance management & communication systems to successfully improve employee engagement.
