John Klein is the CEO of Generate, a Boston-based MIT spin-off focused on digitizing and decarbonizing the construction industry. Generate’s technology platform transforms how buildings are designed and built, accelerating the adoption of sustainable materials like mass timber to empower project teams to design smarter and build better.Previously, John led cross-disciplinary research teams as a Principal Investigator at MIT, developing cutting-edge design and manufacturing technologies. Before MIT, he worked with Frank Gehry and Zaha Hadid for eight years, overseeing over 10 million square feet of construction, including landmark projects like the Wangjing Soho Skyscrapers, Glasgow Transportation Museum, and IT Tech Park in Chennai.John is a US Registered Architect with a Bachelor’s in Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) and a Master’s in Science from the MIT Media Lab.
