Twenty-seven years of progressive law enforcement experience with an emphasis on problem-oriented policing, violent crime reduction strategies and positive community engagement.Experience in wide range of specialties including Community Policing Unit, Investigator assigned to the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, Patrol Operations, Support Bureau, Detective Sergeant within the Investigations Bureau, and the Director of Training for the Chesapeake Law Enforcement Training Academy.Prior to my current assignment, I was the Commanding Officer of the 2nd Precinct - South Norfolk.Currently, hold the rank of Captain and I am assigned as the Commanding Officer of the Support Section. Focused on community collaboration and community-based public safety solutions to violent crime as well as leveraging technology to prevent and detect crime.In addition to my full-time position within the police department, I am also an adjunct faculty member with ECPI University teaching undergraduate-level coursework in Criminal Justice topics.I am a graduate of the 243rd session of the FBI National Academy.
