As a member of the product management group, I had duties related to interaction design, product management, and business analysis.In my interaction design role, I drove the vision of award winning features through user research, wireframing, visual design, prototyping (Flex and HTML), and usability testing.In my product Management role, I collaborated on product planning & functional roadmaps. I ran small teams (agile) meetings with Engineering and QA to manage the product. I guide the product to a high quality through the defect/bug tracking. I often support marketing communications by running webinars, building demo sites, and presenting product to customers.In my business analysis role, I wrote well received functional requirements, identified business uses cases, and defined product goals, working with customers to transform their business problem into solutions.Digital StoreFront is a web application that allows printers to take online orders and gives their customers a rich user interface for sending artwork / documents to be printed and allows them to preview their printed piece.

I managed the Product Design team at Electronics For Imaging (EFI), a software development organization for the print industry. My team consists of interaction designers and visual designers with 2 local members and 3 members in Bangalore, India. We were responsible for the user experience and user interface design for complex desktop and web applications (20+ products). We designed for a variety of technologies; .NET, Eclipse, PHP, Visual Basic, Delphi, etc.Our mission was to design user friendly interfaces that helped our customers work more effectively and efficiently. We focused on big picture issues like workflow and navigation and on the nitty gritty details of interaction design. We also strove for exceptional looking applications that were a pleasure to use. Our deliverables includeed usability testing and analysis reports, design mockups, wireframes, prototypes, conceptual drawings, process flows, style guides, specification documents, graphics, icons, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.

I built re-usable components in Flash ActionScript that allowed teachers make instructional tutors that would allow a student to solve problems, give her hints, and log her interactions. This gave me the chance to learn object oriented programming and to work on the development side of a software process.

I did interaction design, and usability analysis and worked closely with product managers, business analysts and the engineering team.

I used Microsoft ASP and Cold Fusion to develop web sites for the image collections in the university library. I designed and built MS Access relational databases for storing meta-data about images and for searching images.

I provided reference assistance to professors and students at the Granger Engineering Library.

On-plant visits to advise the refiner and contractors on selection, configuration, and installations of instrumentation and control systems.
